About
Since its founding in 1987, a major emphasis at Times Square Church has been to reach out to the poor, the hungry, the destitute and the addicted. This vision has grown beyond our borders and Times Square Church has been transformed by the Holy Ghost into a missions-focused church taking the love and Gospel of Jesus Christ to nations worldwide.
Over the last few years, Times Square Church has been burdened to put a roof over the head of the very people that they were already ministering to. This birthed BrickThink, a ministry which would build shelters for those in need around the world.
BrickThink’s mission is to build up the homes and havens of people without the physical ability to do so, while also being a spiritual support by bringing the love of Christ. As in Isaiah 58:12 “Some of you will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities. Then you will be known as a rebuilder of walls and a restorer of homes”. We seek to go into the forgotten places that have been left by the wayside, and bring new hope and new life through Christ.
The projects we tackle vary from small local painting and cleaning projects in the greater New York City area, to building latrines in a poverty stricken town in the Philippines, to replacing a roof on a drug rehabilitation program in the Netherlands. As the needs arise, we prayerfully walk forward, putting our hands to the plow, and assemble teams of volunteers to go and meet those needs.
Anyone is welcome to get involved with BrickThink, whether it be by physically participating in the work on our next project, by donating the funds required to complete those projects, or by keeping us in prayer as we work.
Why Us?
The goal of BrickThink is to build up homes and communities while also bringing the love of Christ into the places we work. We do not discriminate against race or religion, and we welcome the aid of both men and women with open arms. We are not influenced by political or corporate interests, so any and all assistance which is given to the ministry (both physical and financial) is applied 100% to the intended projects. While we operate as a ministry of Times Square Church, we do not require that volunteers of BrickThink attend the church services regularly. We gladly accept any and all assistance in our projects, especially those that are intended to build up our community right here in and around New York City.
BrickThink’s call is simple. We love it when individuals with construction, design, and engineering backgrounds get involved, but we also have many volunteers who simply want to get dirty, and have never touched a hammer or a paintbrush in their lives.
Come see where you can jump in and get involved in our next project.
